Design sense

Franking Sense, which supplies business and office equipment, services and support contracts, briefed the design company Stella Corrall to create a narrative for its business within its Bolton headquarters at the former Carnegie Library, which dates back to the 1900s.

With windows on all sides with skylights, a sensitive approach was called for to achieve the right balance between the business narrative and architecture. “We helped develop the interior scheme and details; for the glazing we wanted to create privacy where needed yet keep the beautiful light and, of course, celebrate the architecture.” she says. Glass manifestations continue along the office façade and in the above mezzanine, where the designers used corporate colours for the business narrative.
